Sending and Receiving SMS in DreamClass
SMS can be a quick and effective way to inform your school community about important events—whether it’s a school closure, a snow day, emergency communications, or any time-sensitive message. While emails can sometimes go unnoticed, a text message goes straight to your recipients’ phones, making it far more likely to be seen right away.
DreamClass offers SMS functionality as an add-on, enabling you to both send and receive text messages directly through your portal. Note: This feature requires an active paid subscription.
How to Activate SMS Functionality
To enable SMS in your portal, please contact our support team at [email protected] for pricing and activation details.
How to Send SMS
1. Send an Individual SMS
Visit the profile of the parent, student, or teacher you want to contact.
At the top right of the profile, select Send SMS.
2. Send Bulk SMS
Click on "Communication" in the left-hand side menu
Select the audience you'd like to reach (for example, choose “Contact Families” to message all parents).
Click Contact and you’ll be able to send an SMS to all selected recipients.
SMS for Teachers
This feature can also be made available for your teachers, so they can send SMS messages as well. You can turn this "on" from Settings-> Teacher Portal
