DreamClass organizes your data by academic years (School Periods, School Years, or College Periods, depending on your setup).
Transferring data helps get your new academic year ready in just minutes! Here’s how to transfer classes, teachers, students, and fees into a new academic year.
1. Create a New Academic Year (School Period)
Go to School Year:
In the dark side menu, click School Year and click the green button "Create School Year"
2. Use the Rollover Tool to Transfer Data
Switch to the New School Period:
Make sure you have selected your new academic year.
Go to Home:
Click Home in the top left corner.
Access the School Period Settings:
Click the Settings (gear) icon
Open the Rollover Tool:
Click the Rollover button.
3. Transfer Data
Select Referencing School Period:
Choose the academic year you want to copy data from (the previous one).Select the Function “Transfer Data”:
In the Function dropdown, choose Transfer Data and click Apply.
Choose What to Transfer:
Transfer each type of data one at a time:
Classes
Students
Teachers
Fees
⚡ You must repeat the transfer step for each type of data.
4. Grade Advancement (Optional)
If you promote students to a new grade/level each year:
Set the Function in the Rollover tool to Grade Advancement.
Select all students to advance.
Apply changes—the selected students will move to the next level in your new academic year.
