How to Add Transferred Academic Records in DreamClass

DreamClass makes it easy to record courses that students successfully completed at other schools, colleges, or organizations—ensuring their Student History is complete and accurate.

What You Can Do with Student History

With the Student History feature, you can:

  • Add records of courses that a student has completed at previous institutions including

  • Issue Multiyear Transcripts

How to Add a Transferred Course

To create transferred course entries for a student:

  1. Navigate to “Records” using the left-hand side menu.

  2. Click “All Students” to display the student list.

  3. Select the student whose record you want to update.

  4. Find and open the Student History section in their profile.

  5. Click “Create Period” to record the previous school, the academic year (i.e. 2022-2023), and optionally the term.

  6. Within the transferred period, click “Create Course/ Add Transferred Course ” to enter details about each completed course. You can add their Grade (Numerical and Text), Points Credits and many more.

  7. Click Save and your work is done.

Explanation of Fields

When adding transferred periods and courses, you’ll be asked for the following information:

Transferred Period

  • Institution Name: Previous school or organization attended.

  • Start/End Year: Academic years covered by this period.

  • Term Name: Academic period (e.g., Fall, Spring, Semester 1, Semester 2).

  • Level: Grade level or year (e.g., 10th Grade, Freshman).

Transferred Course

  • Name: Course or subject name.

  • Code: Course code, if available.

  • Subject: Subject area (e.g., Mathematics, Science).

  • Numeric Grade: Grade achieved (numeric score).

  • Displayed Grade: Letter or symbolic grade (e.g., A, B+, C-), if given.

  • Grade Points: Points associated with the grade.

  • Credits: Total units or credits for the course.

  • Earned Credits: Credits actually earned by the student.

  • Type: Type of course (Regular, Honors, etc.).
